Although the development of dental implants has a specific history, as the most advanced oral restoration method, many people still do not understand the dental implants, and there are still quite a few misunderstandings.

Misunderstanding 1:

Can't I do an MRI after I have implanted my teeth?

Because of the metal used in the dental implants, many patients are worried that when doing MRI, the metal material will be “sucked away” during the inspection process, or the implant will produce artifacts that will affect the inspection results. Because of this, many patients have been afraid to operate.

Experts explained that gold, titanium, titanium zirconium, tantalum and other materials often used in dental implants are inert metals, do not absorb energy and nuclear magnetic, and do not move in the magnetic field. Also, the implant will only form small artifacts in the vicinity, which will not affect the imaging of the skull and nervous system. Patients with dental implants do not have to worry about inaccurate examination results.

Misunderstanding 2:

If the teeth are gone, it is impossible to "implant" the teeth again?

Although some of the alveolar bones are absorbed after the tooth is lost, there are still remaining alveolar bones or jaws that can be “tied with titanium nails,” and the implants are “on the remaining alveolar bones or jaws.” Titanium nails are used as artificial roots. Also, pure titanium has good biocompatibility with bone tissue, and bone cells combine with titanium to grow on the surface of titanium nails and firmly bound together.

Misunderstanding 3:

Is it necessary to install dental implants after the tooth is removed?

Although dental implants have many advantages, the best teeth are still the healthy teeth of human beings. As long as they can preserve the real teeth through treatment, they should adhere to the procedure, rather than removing them, and only consider the tooth extraction if they have to.

Misunderstanding 4:

After you have implanted your teeth, is it once and for all?

The age of implants is currently more than 10 years old, but it is also related to everyone's habits and methods of protection. In general, implanted titanium artificial roots tend to be very stable and do not need to be replaced, but may be returned if the crown of the implant is not well protected. For example, some people bite bones after implanting the teeth, which may cause the crown of the implant to crack or be damaged. At this time, it is necessary to replace the broken crown.

Misunderstanding 5:

The more expensive dental implants, the better?

Each dental implant system has its own characteristics. Which dental implant system is selected is based on the doctor's treatment. To combine the bone condition of the patient's teeth, it is not the most expensive, but the dental implant system that suits you.

More than 60% of the global dentures are produced in China. After the decline in gross profit, will implants be the next profitable one?
